Second Bookses

It's like second breakfast. Only with books.
Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) - Laurell K. Hamilton The idea that there was a vampire series out there that I hadn't read at all bothered me, so I picked up Laurell K. Hamilton's first Anita Blake book, Guilty Pleasures, when it was some Kindle special.I don't see what all the fuss was about, and I won't be reading more.Overall, the world-building was pretty good, and I liked her vampire canon, which had a little bit of Rice and a lot bit of sex, but Hamilton seemed so busy trying to make Anita this kick-ass, witty character that I didn't really get to know her. It was like she was wearing an Anita character suit. On top of that, she kills off pretty much every character you might care about, and the one she's going to lug into the next book (kicking and screaming), she leaves out of the action for nearly the whole book so you really don't care enough to want to read more.Resounding meh.
